Feels Like Home Cycling Team Member Melissa Mann

Our next Cycling Team Member, Melissa Mann, created a beautiful layout and mini-album with Feels Like Home and our Naturals embellishments. Here's Melissa to tell you all about it.

I really loved the bright color scheme of the new “Feels like Home” collection. I paired this with a big black and white photo of my parents that I took earlier this fall. I layered the big photo on white cardstock which was layered on a piece of chevron pattern paper. I layered another blue and white chevron pattern paper on the top and bottom of the photo. I placed the title in the lower left hand corner and used one of the pre-cut script words from the new collection. I layered a bunch of various embellishments around the title and in the upper right hand corner. My journaling was typed out and placed in the upper left hand corner.

The mini book was super easy to put together! I simply used the 6x6 paper pad and chose the papers I wanted to use. Because the mini album inside pages were already sized to 6x6, I simply used adhesive and covered the pages! I loved that I didn’t have to trim the papers to size! On each page, I layered a die-cut, an instagram photo, and various embellishments. It only took about 2 hours to put this little book together!

Thank you for having me on the blog today! I loved playing with this fabulous new collection!

And Thank YOU, Melissa, for sharing your beautiful projects!

Feels Like Home Cycling Team Member Molly Porter

Today we are sharing a Fall layout using Feels Like Home created by Cycling Team Member Molly Porter. Let's turn the blog over to Molly.

The 'Feels Like Home' collection is right up my alley. I love the bright, cozy colors and all the little stickers and chipboard elements. I especially loved the die cut words since I don't own my own die cutting machine.

I really wanted to document that crisp feeling on cool fall mornings, and how good it feels to have a hot cup of coffee on my morning commute. I added a lot of detail to my otherwise simple layout with the chipboard shapes and word stickers. This collection has so many great pieces to document the big moments of fall and the small ones.

Feels Like Home Cycling Team Member Rochelle Spears

Cycling Team Member Rochelle Spears has two layouts featuring Feels Like Home to share.  Let's let her tell you all about them...

I had a great time working with the “Feels like Home” collection! The papers in the collection have a great variety of colors and patterns for layering.  I love all the different texture embellishments that Little Yellow Bicycle offers with each collection.

For the first layout, “Love the Fall”, I couldn’t wait to use the fabric banner and flowers.  It really adds dimension and great texture to my page.  Combining the Fabric Favorites with the Chipboard Shapes really brought my layout together.

For my second layout, “My Loves”, I used the black polkadot paper for the background so that the beautiful colors of the patterned paper would pop off my page!  I added a mixture of burlap and canvas embellishments (stickers and alphas) for more texture and dimension. The cardstock stickers were perfect for my journaling.

Thank you, Rochelle, for sharing the layouts of your beautiful family.

Feels Like Home Cycling Team Member Charissa Miller

Cycling Team Member Chariss Miller has two fun Feels Like Home projects to share.  But, we'll let her tell you all about them...
The 4 of Us
I really wanted to use the little envelopes on a layout about my family, since there are 4 of us.  I created the grid right page first, building it around 4 photos and the 4 envelopes with little clusters of embellishments with each envelope. Each envelope contains a little bit of writing about one of us to look back on where we were at this time in our lives.

After completing the grid layout, it didn’t feel completed at that point, so I created the 12x12 photo and layered up some embellishments to bring it together with the grid page.

I love how the burlap pieces give an additional level of texture and just work perfectly with the colors of the collection and how the whole collection is based around the ideas of home, family, and love – simply perfect for documenting about us.

Fall Bouquet
The colors of this collection just called for a flower bouquet to celebrate fall, family, and home.  I used my Cameo to cut out the flowers and then the tops of the stick pins made the perfect centers for each flower!
I decorated the vase using some of the vellum tape and the adorable leaves in the crafting kit.  I loved the little house wood veneer so I added it and the burlap tag to finish off the decoration. I cannot wait to put this on the center of our table at Thanksgiving.
Thank you, Charissa, for sharing these beautiful, warm projects.
